Does not work the way you think it does

The side switch does not turn the flashlight on and off. The only way to turn the light on is the tail cap switch, then the side switch changes modes. That mode is then remembered for the next time you use the tail cap switch to turn the light on.

Super disappointing. The side switch needs to turn the light on and off. The whole point is so you can access a low setting without blinding yourself and everyone around you, but the way this is set up you have to commit to low with the tail cap (which makes no sense), or starting out high and switching to low.

Bizarrely, the side switch DOES turn the light on when its charging, to a fixed medium setting which can't be changed. Wut.

Stupid manual of arms, otherwise a great light. Unfortunately it is relegated to the glove box because of the side switch that is useless. The EC35 GenII is a similar light that works the way you'd expect.
