The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on higher output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will allow the user to reselect higher modes.
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output, the light blinks 3 times every 5 minutes to remind you to recharge or replace the battery in the flashlight.
Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 Series 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery.
Like any other flashlight accessory, it is prudent to exercise caution when handling the PD36 TAC tactical flashlight. Here are some of the don'ts of this unit:
1. The lighting of this unit is high-intensity. This means that it can cause severe eye damage not only to you but also to other users. For this reason, refrain from shining it directly to those around you.
2. The Fenix PD36 TAC tactical flashlights accumulates plenty of heat when you use them for an extended time. The accumulation of heat causes a high temperature in its shell. If it becomes too hot to hold, turn it off for a moment and allow it to cool.
When it comes to usage and maintenance, you need to know that disassembling the head can damage the flashlight and void the warranty. Secondly, Fenix highly recommends utilizing quality batteries with appropriate in-built protection in this flashlight. If you do not intend to use the light for extended periods, remove its battery to prevent damage to the battery. Always charge your unit's battery when before it becomes completely depleted. It will not affect its memory if you do this. Because extended use affects the O-ring causing it to wear, you need to replace the o-ring if it's damaged. Replacing the O-ring ensures the PD36 TAC maintains a proper water seal. Frequent cleaning of the flashlight's battery contact helps to improve its performance in terms of lighting. Of great importance to note is that dirty contacts can cause the unit to flicker or shine intermittently. Additionally, it can even fail to illuminate.
Illumination failure can be resolved by:
· A battery that needs replacing. Replacement is usually the preferred solution in this case.
· Dirty contacts, PCB board, or threads. The answer is to clean the different contact points and contact us if that does not help.
