Great little keychain light

I love this little thing. Unlike so many others in the class, this one is actually small enough to go on a minimal keychain. Has admirable performance for its size and seems to have enough capacity to be useful whenever you reach for it. It’s not going to replace any of your bigger lights, but it’s great for what it is. I do wish there was a positive click between off and on, but that’s a very minor thing and it works perfectly fine as is.

Some frustrations, but can be improved somewhat (Orange, Nichia 219F High CRI 5000K)

Fine little light, I liked the little rechargeable twisty light by Olight which I gave away as a gift, so I figured I'd try the Skilhunt EK1. The first time I tried charging, it didn't seem to be working properly and the indicator was rapidly flashing red and blue, which I couldn't find any mention of in the manual. After a few tries of plugging/unplugging it did start charging normally and I haven't noticed a problem since, though I haven't used this light much.

The Nichia emitter is quite nice, a very neutral 5000K, and is really the best part of this flashlight. I like the 2-mode twisty format - high brightness isn't very powerful but it's good for this tiny size.

I found the twisting action to be very tight, and could not be done with one hand. The worst part is I could hear and feel the spring resisting and crunching inside the housing, which was unpleasant. I eventually fully unscrewed the head and removed the spring entirely. This made the twisting action silent and smoother, it just doesn't spring open when exposing the charging port, which is fine by me. Despite being a little easier to turn, I'm still unable to twist it with one hand, partly due to how stubby this thing is (only 48 mm not including the keyring hook) in my large hands.

Overall, a fine little keychain light, I just don't feel great about what I'm getting for $20. I'm more satisfied with the $11 Skilhunt E3A with a simple AA battery, honestly.
